Maggie Vaz Neto is a Portuguese soprano based in London, England. She is in love with contemporary and modern music, but still saves a special place in her heart for Romantic opera. She performs a wide range of repertoire, both as a soloist and as a member of the Philharmonia Chorus. Maggie’s regular engagements also include a choral scholarship in Christ Church, East Sheen, being a cantor in St Mary of the Angels, in Bayswater and giving private singing lessons.

With the Philharmonia Chorus, she has performed in the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Bold Tendencies, in Peckham Rye, among other places.

Maggie regularly collaborates with composers. Recently, she has co-founded the new music focused New Contemporalis Ensemble with the composer Margarida Gonçalves. This ensemble is focused on collaborating with other musicians and artists in search of creating concerts that aim to be approachable experiences of new music for first-time audiences, while keeping the essence and intensity of the music.

In opera, she has recently created the role of Brízida in Margarida Gonçalves’s The Acts of Brízida Vaz, premiered in the Tête-à-Tête Contemporary Opera Festival in September 2024. Upcoming performances include the solo performance of Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem, with the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus and the Magna Sinfonia Orchestra, in Lighthouse - Arts and Entertainment, Poole; and a recital with the Musicians of London, in St Mary with All Souls, West Hampstead; both in November 2024.
